Prayer Collection

Prayer is a conversation with God. If you're not sure how to start, that's perfectly fine. Sincerity matters more than form. We've gathered prayers for different occasions — morning prayer, dawn prayer, pastoral prayer, salvation prayer, and more. Find the prayer you need and offer it with all your heart.

📜 Meditation

Does prayer feel difficult? It's actually simpler than you think. Just talk to God the way you'd talk to a friend.

Many people say they don't know what to say when they pray. That's exactly why written prayers can help. Think of them not as the "right answer" but as a reference guide. Reading how others pray teaches you, "Oh, I can pray like that too."

You might need a prayer to start your morning, or you might want quiet fellowship with God before dawn. If you've been asked to lead a congregational prayer at church, a little nervousness is natural. And if you've just decided to believe in Jesus, you'll want a salvation prayer.

Whatever your situation, God delights in a heartfelt prayer. Don't stress about getting it perfect — just open your heart and begin.

🙏 Prayer

God, I want to learn how to pray. Thank You for saying that I can simply come before You, even when I don't know what to say. Starting today, I will set aside time to talk with You. Thank You, Lord, for gladly receiving even my clumsy prayers. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

❓ FAQ

How do I choose a prayer that fits my situation?

Pick one based on the time of day (morning, dawn, evening), the setting you're in (Sunday service, Wednesday service, mealtime), and your heart's posture (thanksgiving, repentance, petition). If you're just starting out, I'd recommend beginning with a morning prayer or a short representative prayer.

Reading prayers verbatim feels insincere.

Written prayers are vessels that hold the heart. Reading slowly and substituting one word for your situation makes them your own. At first the vessel guides the heart; later, the heart shapes the prayer.

Is there a prayer for children?

Parental prayers for a child's health, studies, and faith are on a separate page. "Lord, guide this child's path and hold them firmly in your hand" is the simplest and most powerful prayer.

I'm leading public prayer for the first time — how do I prepare?

Write it out beforehand and keep under 5 minutes. Four stages: (1) thanks for God's call, (2) corporate confession, (3) intercession for worship/church/world, (4) closing doxology.
