Many people say they don't know what to say when they pray. That's exactly why written prayers can help. Think of them not as the "right answer" but as a reference guide. Reading how others pray teaches you, "Oh, I can pray like that too."
You might need a prayer to start your morning, or you might want quiet fellowship with God before dawn. If you've been asked to lead a congregational prayer at church, a little nervousness is natural. And if you've just decided to believe in Jesus, you'll want a salvation prayer.
Whatever your situation, God delights in a heartfelt prayer. Don't stress about getting it perfect — just open your heart and begin.

God, I want to learn how to pray. Thank You for saying that I can simply come before You, even when I don't know what to say. Starting today, I will set aside time to talk with You. Thank You, Lord, for gladly receiving even my clumsy prayers. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
