Bible Verses About Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the most important attitudes the Bible teaches. Paul urges us to 'give thanks in all circumstances,' and the Psalms overflow with thanksgiving and praise.

📖 Bible Verses

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts... And be thankful.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

📜 Meditation

Gratitude is not just a feeling — it's an attitude the Bible commands.

Paul wrote 'give thanks in all circumstances' even from prison. This doesn't mean being thankful only when things go well, but recognizing God's sovereignty in every situation.

The fruit of gratitude is remarkable: anxiety decreases (Phil 4:6), peace fills your heart (Col 3:15), and your relationship with God deepens.

Today, start practicing gratitude with small things. Waking up this morning, having water to drink, being able to read these words... gratitude grows as you practice it.

🙏 Prayer

God, help me remember to give thanks in all circumstances. Whether in good times or difficult times, grant me a heart of gratitude that acknowledges Your sovereignty. Help me see the world through eyes of thankfulness today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
