"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."

Jesus had ascended. The disciples returned to Jerusalem and waited. They didn't know when the Holy Spirit would come—ten days. During those ten days, they did one thing: they prayed.
Women were there, and Jesus's family too. Even his brothers, who once didn't understand him, were gathered here. "With one accord"—people from different backgrounds united with one mind. Waiting made them one.
"They all continued perseverantly in prayer." With focused hearts, with concentration. While waiting for the Holy Spirit, they filled that time with prayer. They didn't rush to plan ahead. They didn't attempt human methods. They waited for what the Lord had promised, and they prayed.
If this is a season of waiting for you, how are you filling that time? The early church filled it with prayer. The Holy Spirit came upon that prayer.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Lord, there are times when waiting feels tedious and hopeless. When we don't know how to fill those moments, help us fill them with prayer as the early church did. We believe that when we pray together, not alone but united in heart, You are present. Let Your Holy Spirit work upon our prayers today. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
