"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,"

📜 Today's Meditation

As Easter approaches, we are invited to contemplate deeply the reality of Jesus' resurrection. Peter describes this transformative power as being "begotten again"—a complete rebirth of our very existence. We who were once trapped in the despair of death now possess the gift of new life.

Through Christ's resurrection, we receive "a lively hope"—not a dead, abstract belief, but a living force that sustains and transforms us daily. This hope is not reserved for some distant future; it strengthens us in our present struggles. In moments of loneliness and failure, this living hope holds us firmly.

The "inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and fadeth not away" that Peter describes stands in stark contrast to all earthly possessions. Everything in this world decays and perishes, yet God has reserved for us an inheritance that is eternal. Our true values must align with this reality. We are called to pursue not earthly wealth and honor, but the eternal inheritance awaiting us in God's kingdom. This understanding naturally reorders our priorities.

God's abundant mercy gives us this living hope so that we might live in it today. This is not merely a promise of future blessing; it is the power to live differently now. In the hope of resurrection, we transcend our present suffering and limitations, pressing toward a greater purpose. Having received this magnificent grace through Christ's resurrection, we ponder how we shall live today in the light of this hope.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Almighty God, we thank You for Your abundant mercy that has brought us from the despair of death to new life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Let this living hope that we have received encourage and transform us in our daily lives. Keep us from being ensnared by worldly things, that we may not forget the eternal inheritance prepared for us. Strengthen us in the faith of resurrection's power, and guide us to walk ever closer to Jesus in all our remaining days. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
