📜 Today's Meditation

Isaiah 53:5 stands as one of the Old Testament's most powerful messianic prophecies. Written around 700 BC, Isaiah describes the "Suffering Servant" who would come centuries later with remarkable precision—yet these words speak directly to Jesus Christ and His crucifixion.

The terms "wounded" and "bruised" convey extreme physical suffering. But the crucial detail is why He suffered: not for Himself, but "for our transgressions" and "our iniquities." Here lies the mystery of substitution—the sinless One taking the place of sinners.

As we meditate on these words during Lent, we realize the cross is not merely history but personal reality. "Our transgressions" refers not to some past generation, but to me, right now. Each stripe upon His back was for my healing. Each wound bore my burden.

What response should this infinite cost demand of us? Lenten repentance begins by kneeling before such grace.

🙏 Today's Prayer

O Lord, I confess that Your piercing and bruising was for my sake. My transgressions and iniquities led You to the cross. Yet You stood willingly in that place of shame. Before such astounding love, I repent of my pride and indifference. Grant me a life that honors the peace and healing won by Your stripes, never treating it lightly. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
