Apostle John calls the Church to a profound truth: "Let us love... in deed and in truth." This transcends sentiment or eloquence, demanding love expressed through concrete action. The true measure of our faith is not how holy we appear, but how genuinely we serve our brothers in their need.
Christ's sacrifice—laying down His life for us—is the ultimate expression of love. This is not merely an inspiring example; it is the foundation of our entire salvation. Without His sacrifice, redemption would have been impossible, and we stand upon this unmerited grace.
Yet how often do we contradict this standard? We speak kind words of love, yet close our hearts when brothers need help. When we possess abundance while ignoring others' suffering, our professed love of God rings hollow. Words alone cannot consummate love; love is proven only through action.
This season of Chuseok invites us to reflect on those around us—family, neighbors, the needy. Have we truly communicated with those who matter? Have we turned away when help was needed? Let us examine our hearts honestly, and begin now to demonstrate love through deed.
When we love our brothers as God has loved us, our faith transcends the soul and enters lived reality. Our faith becomes a mirror reflecting God's love to the world.

Gracious God, We remember the sacrifice of Jesus for us. Grant us courage to practice genuine love toward our brothers and sisters.
Let us not merely profess love with words, But become people who love in deed and in truth.
Open our eyes to see those around us in need, And strengthen us to extend our helping hand with compassion.
Soften our self-centered hearts, That we may live with greater humility and generosity.
