In life, we face moments when we must make sudden decisions in unexpected situations. Fear can overwhelm us when we don't know what to say or how to respond. Jesus promised that in such moments, we are not alone. God the Father's Holy Spirit will help us from within.
We often try to prepare answers in advance to handle situations. But Jesus said, "Take no thought." This doesn't mean being reckless; rather, it means not relying solely on our own strength. We should trust not in our prepared and planned words, but in the words the Spirit gives us in that moment.
The Holy Spirit speaks through our mouths. This is a remarkable promise. When we don't know what to say, when we are afraid, the Spirit supplies us with those words from within our hearts. We simply need to believe and follow.
This promise wasn't only for the disciples of old. Today, we have the same Holy Spirit with us. When unexpected situations arise and we have the opportunity to truly witness to the Lord, when we need to confess our faith, the Holy Spirit will give us the words we need. We simply trust and depend on the Spirit.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Holy God our Father, we thank You for the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Often we are seized by fear in unexpected moments. Yet we believe that as the Lord promised, the Holy Spirit is with us. Today, as we face all circumstances, help us to rely on the Holy Spirit and grant us the words we need in that moment. May the name of the Lord be glorified through our lips. Amen.
