📖 Today's Word

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"

📜 Today's Meditation

What we experience as we pass through Easter is not merely a religious commemoration. Jesus' resurrection is a declaration of victory over death, and that victory becomes the foundation of our faith. The author of 1 John speaks clearly: we who are born of God—that is, we who believe in Jesus—possess the power to overcome the world.

Overcoming the world does not mean conquering worldly powers or avoiding all difficulties. Rather, it means the triumph of faith that is not shaken by the fear, despair, and temptation that the world seeks to give us. The world ceaselessly cries out to us: that money is supreme, that success is happiness, that we must care only for ourselves. But we who believe in Jesus hear a different voice.

This victory is possible through our faith. Faith is not vague hope, but certain trust in knowing that Jesus is the Son of God. The risen Jesus is still with us, giving us eternal life and loving us. This is why those who have this faith can stand boldly before the world.

In the small difficulties, discouragement, and fears we encounter in our daily lives—all part of this world—we can still remember Jesus' resurrection and lift our heads. Victory already belongs to Jesus, and that victory is ours.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord, we thank you for the victory of the risen Jesus. Even amid the fear and anxiety that the world offers, help us remember that we who believe in you are already victors. When our faith wavers, grant us the grace to confess again that Jesus is my Savior, and help us to stand firm upon that faith. We ask that you guard our steps as we follow you even in the temptations and despair of this world. Amen.
