📜 Today's Meditation

Mark 10:45 stands as the clearest declaration of who Jesus truly is. Right after James and John had asked to sit at His right and left, and the other disciples grew angry, Jesus spoke these words. In that moment of dispute over power and position, Christ proclaimed an entirely different kingdom principle.

The word 'minister' (diaconeō in Greek) refers to a servant who waits at table. The King of all kings defined Himself as a table servant—not a gesture of false humility, but a revelation of God's kingdom order.

'Ransom' (lytron) is the price paid to free a slave. Jesus paid with His own life to free us from slavery to sin. This is the heart of Lent: meditating on the infinite price paid for our freedom.

Between a world that demands to be served and a Christ who came to serve, which order are you choosing today?

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord, I desire to follow Your example of humble service. I meditate deeply on the love shown by giving Your life as ransom for me. Help me to set aside my desire for power and status, and grant me grace to serve those around me in lowliness. As I remember the price You paid, may I live in gratitude. In Jesus' name, amen.
