This is a psalm written by Moses. 'Teach us to count our days.' It may sound like an odd prayer, but it's actually one of the wisest prayers we can pray.

We assume tomorrow will come. But it's not guaranteed, is it? When we understand that each day is a gift, our approach to living changes.

'Number our days' doesn't mean to live pessimistically. It means not to waste the time we're given. To live today meaningfully—to tell those we love that we love them, and to do what needs to be done without delay.
