"For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength:"
— Isaiah 30:15

We live constantly in pursuit. We hustle for better tomorrows, for more possessions, for greater achievements. Yet through the prophet Isaiah, God speaks to us a different truth. Not every pursuit leads to salvation. Sometimes we need to pause. Sometimes our souls require silence to be restored. To turn and be quiet is to find salvation itself—a truth that contradicts our common sense.
When anxiety overwhelms us, we still pray. But such prayers are often desperate cries amid the noise, not genuine prayers born of trust, merely urgent requests for problem-solving. God calls us to stop. He tells us to ignore the world's voices and to still our souls. In quiet places, breathing deeply and trusting God becomes the path to reclaiming the peace we have lost.
The promise that quietness and confidence bring strength is not empty comfort. When we trust God and calm our souls, we gain an inner resilience that cannot be shaken by any difficulty. The world's stress robs us of composure and weakens us. But the quiet composure that comes from trusting God becomes a genuine strength that no external circumstance can take away.
Today, pause for a moment. Set down your phone. Withdraw your mind from temporary worries. In a quiet place, breathe deeply and trust God. There you will find an unexpected peace, and that peace will become your true strength.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Lord God, we thank you for calling us in this moment and inviting us into times of stillness. When our hearts are filled with the noise of the world and we cannot hear your voice, forgive us. Grant us today the composure to trust in you and not lose faith. Help us lay down all our anxiety and worry before you, and grant us deep peace and true strength. May this peace guide our steps in the journey ahead. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
