📖 Today's Word

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

— Galatians 2:20

📜 Today's Meditation

During this scorching summer season when the heat beats down on the streets and our bodies and minds grow weary, Paul's confession resonates deeply with our souls. "I am no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" — this is far more than a simple religious statement. It is a declaration of a life in which we have surrendered all attempts to be our own masters, and instead place our entire trust under the lordship of Jesus.

We often try to direct our lives through our own strength and abilities. We strive to achieve greater success, to gain more recognition, to build more fulfilling lives. Yet all these efforts ultimately leave us more exhausted. When Paul says he was crucified with Christ, he means that his own desires, his own ambitions, his own plans — all have died. And in that death, Christ alone is resurrected and lives.

The great paradox is this: true freedom comes when we surrender ourselves. Just as Christ gave His body for us, when we give up our self-centeredness, the love of Christ flows into our lives. This is the life of faith, and only within this faith do we experience true fulfillment.

In this summer heat that burns so intensely, let us pray that our self dies and Christ lives within us. Then we will truly experience God's grace in every moment of the life He has given us.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord, I often find myself relying on my own strength and ability. I have been so focused on achieving more, climbing higher, pursuing my own desires. Yet in all these efforts, I have only grown more weary and alone. Today, through Your Word, I understand at last. I abandon myself and ask that Christ alone would live in me. I nail my selfish desires to the cross and long to live only by Your love. Guide my life so that I experience Your grace in every moment, and let my life be a vessel through which Your glory shines. Amen.
