There comes a moment when we realize how full our lives are of things to be grateful for. In the midst of our daily routines, we often overlook the grace of the Lord, turning our attention instead to what troubles us. Yet as David urges our souls to bless the Lord in this psalm, we too need to reflect on the magnitude of God's grace that has been bestowed upon us.
The Lord forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. This speaks not merely of physical healing, but of the healing of our wounded hearts, the restoration of our troubled spirits, and the freedom from the burden of sin. The Lord redeems our lives from destruction and crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercy.
To fully appreciate God's grace, we must understand that it is not a one-time gift but a continuous blessing. The Lord has not merely helped us once; He tends and guides us at every moment—as we sleep, as we wake, as we labor, as we rest. We are always held in the hands of our God.
Most wonderfully, the Lord promises to renew our youth like the eagle. This means that no matter our age, no matter our failures or loneliness, we can always be made new before the Lord. His grace continuously renews us and fills us with fresh hope.
For our souls to overflow with gratitude, we must first remember God's mercy. Let us recall how the Lord has cared for us in days gone by. Then we can endure present difficulties in the hands of the Lord, and face future uncertainties with confidence in His promises.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Loving Lord, this day I awaken in Your grace. Help my soul to give thanks to You. I praise You for Your compassion and tender mercy in forgiving all my sins and healing the afflictions of my heart and body.
I remember the mercies I received when I trusted in You through times of hardship. I will not forget how You rescued my life from destruction and made me new. I praise You, O Lord, for renewing my youth like the eagle, for guiding every moment of my life.
Today grant me a heart sensitive to perceive and feel Your grace. Help me to live in Your great love and to glorify Your holy name through my life. Let Your grace flow upon my family, that we all may live this day in thanksgiving and praise. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
