"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
— Galatians 5:22-23

Let us meditate on the fruit of the Spirit. When the disciples of Jesus waited for the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem, they were transformed into entirely different people. Love, joy, and peace grew within them. When the Spirit dwells in us, we too can experience the same transformation.
Our lives are sometimes filled with trials and hardships. Yet if the fruit of the Spirit is bearing in us, we need not lose our peace even in the midst of suffering. Love embraces all things, joy illuminates our soul, and peace radiates to those around us.
What is required to bear the fruit of the Spirit? First, we must receive Jesus as our Savior. We must continually meditate on Scripture, pray, and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is the path of spiritual growth.
Temperance, meekness, goodness, gentleness, longsuffering—all these virtues are the fruit of the Spirit. When we practice these virtues, those around us discover Jesus in our lives. We cannot know how greatly one person's faith may influence others.
The fruit of the Spirit grows naturally within us. Just as a tree bears good fruit, so when the Spirit dwells in us, we bear beautiful fruit. Today, let us examine how the fruit of the Spirit is revealed in our lives, and strive ever more to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Gracious God, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and let the fruit of love, joy, and peace be borne in my life. Help me follow the guidance of your Spirit even in difficult circumstances, and grant me to share the fruit of the Spirit with my family and neighbors. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
