"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
-- 1 Peter 1:3-5

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the event that transforms our entire life. Peter describes it as being "begotten us again," meaning we who were once under the dominion of sin and death now possess new life through Christ's resurrection. This is the essence of "lively hope"—the assurance that our future does not end in death, but that hope exists beyond all despair.
The same divine power that raised Jesus from the dead continues to protect us today. When we are shaken by life's storms and trials, we rest safely in God's hands. The "keeping" Peter speaks of does not promise comfort without conflict, but rather God's faithfulness to preserve us unto final salvation.
The inheritance reserved in heaven cannot be attained by our own efforts. Nothing in this world is incorruptible, undefiled, or eternal—it is an inheritance prepared solely by God. Our part is simply to grasp this promise through faith. Though all else around us changes, the Lord's promise remains eternal and steadfast.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Risen Lord Jesus, we praise and thank You. For raising us from death and despair to new life, we exalt Your name. Help us to perceive that even our weak faith is protected by Your infinite power. Grant us faith to rejoice amid every trial, fixing our gaze upon the eternal inheritance prepared in heaven. Amen.
