📜 Today's Meditation

Psalm 139 concludes with David's remarkable prayer, voluntarily inviting God to examine his innermost being. After declaring God's omniscience and omnipresence throughout the psalm, David courageously opens himself to divine scrutiny. This is the essential posture of Lent. God already knows everything about us, yet David chooses to actively invite God's searching light into his heart. The plea 'search me and know my heart' is a decision to lay bare every layer of self-deception before God's penetrating gaze. We often fear facing our true selves, but God's examination is not for condemnation—it is for healing. His purpose is not judgment but guidance toward 'the way everlasting.' This Lent, let us have the courage to open our hearts wide before God, inviting His light into even the darkest corners of our inner life.

🙏 Today's Prayer

All-knowing God, during this Lent, search our hearts and reveal the hidden sins and motives within us. Shine Your light into the darkness we cannot even perceive in ourselves, and free us from self-deception so that we may stand before You in truth. We are not afraid of Your scrutiny, for we trust that Your purpose is not condemnation but guidance. Lead us in the way everlasting. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
