Timothy was a young and timid disciple of Paul. Paul's epistles constantly encourage him: "Do not fear." This declaration is powerful: fear is not from God. Our fears come from our environment, our imagination, or the enemy. Instead, God has given us three things: power, love, and self-control. Equip yourself with these three rather than fear.
