In the midst of summer's heat, we often find ourselves weighed down by weariness and discouragement. The burdens of daily life press upon us, and anxiety about the future grows. Yet Peter's words remind us that we are never alone, and that the 'living hope' given through Jesus' resurrection sustains us.
The resurrection is not merely a historical event—it is proof that God's power over death works in our lives even now. When we access this resurrection power through faith, there is no reason for despair. An inheritance awaits us that is incorruptible, undefiled, and eternal, kept safe in heaven by God Himself.
What then of our present trials and sorrows? Peter calls them 'trials of faith.' As fire purifies gold, our difficulties refine and strengthen our faith. Understanding that present suffering is not permanent, but rather a passage to glory, transforms us.
Most remarkable is that we love and believe in Jesus without seeing Him, and this faith fills us with unspeakable joy and glory. This is true hope—the conviction that beyond our present struggles lies a joy and honor that sustains us. May you experience this living hope in your life this summer.

Almighty God, we give thanks for the living hope granted through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, even in this season's heaviness. Though our eyes first turn to present difficulties, strengthen our faith to look toward our eternal inheritance. Grant us to walk forward step by step, trusting that our trials purify our faith. Though we have not seen Jesus, may our love and belief in Him fill our hearts with unspeakable glory and joy. Let Your Spirit protect us and guide us to live in hopeful expectation of Christ's appearing. Amen.
