📜 Today's Meditation

We often lose the present in the face of future anxiety. We worry about tomorrow's problems, events that haven't even happened yet, and miss the grace given to us today. Jesus asks us: Is this very moment not sufficient? Is today's burden not already great?

From God's perspective, time flows differently. Tomorrow hasn't come yet, and yesterday cannot be undone. Only today is the actual time given to us. Carrying tomorrow's work ahead of time wastes the strength God has given us, and simultaneously denies the God of tomorrow.

This teaching doesn't mean we should make no plans. Rather, it's an appeal not to deplete our hearts through excessive worry even amid wise planning. When we live today fully, we gain sufficient strength of soul to meet tomorrow. When we fill today with trust instead of anxiety, the future also becomes brighter.

The prayer "Give us our daily bread" asks only for today's needs. It's God's promise that He will provide what you need, when you need it. Our responsibility is only to be grateful for today and do our best. This is the way of life Jesus taught us: trusting the God of tomorrow while thanking the God of today.

🙏 Today's Prayer

God, help me lay down the weight of worry that has settled in my heart. I have missed today's grace by worrying ahead about tomorrow that hasn't come. Help me understand how precious this present moment is. Help me entrust all of tomorrow's affairs to You and find You in today's work, with the wisdom to do so. Fill my heart with peace that I may live today with gratitude. Amen.
