When we face challenges in life, we often believe that through our own strength and effort we can overcome them all. We invest more time, work harder, devise clever strategies—convinced that perseverance will lead to success. But the prophet Zechariah delivers a divine message that shatters this illusion. In the despair following the exile, as Zerubbabel and the people struggled to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, God spoke clearly: 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.'

Our common mistake is emphasizing our own effort as we 'help' God. We try to prove how important our contribution is when working with Him. Yet the work of the Holy Spirit transcends our efforts entirely—it is not merely supplementary to them. Whether our wisdom and strength are great or small matters not; true achievement comes only when God's Spirit is present. This is not a message of despair, but rather a profound promise of comfort and hope.

When the Spirit of God works, the impossible becomes possible. Broken bodies are healed, souls are transformed, relationships are restored. Problems we cannot solve find new solutions through the Spirit's guidance, opening our eyes to wise choices. This is why Jesus commanded His disciples not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father's promise—the power of the Holy Spirit.

What heavy burdens do we carry today? What troubles us most? Are we perhaps trying to bear it all alone through our own strength? Let us ask God: How might this impossible task, this problem I cannot solve, be transformed by the Spirit's power? When we surrender our entire situation to the Holy Spirit in faith, we will experience God working in ways we never imagined.
