"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
— John 14:26

We forget so much as we journey through life. The Scripture we read this morning, the grace we felt in prayer, the joy of worship—all fade before the day ends. We blame our memory, or doubt the strength of our faith.
Yet before departing, Jesus made an astounding promise to His disciples. The Holy Spirit would come not only to teach all things, but to bring to remembrance all He had spoken. The Spirit's work is not merely to add something new, but to bring the words of Jesus alive at the crucial moments of our lives.
There are moments when a verse, long buried in memory, suddenly awakens. It comes as comfort, warning, or direction—not by chance, but by the Holy Spirit's hand, drawing from the storehouse of memory what we need most. As a teacher knows the precise moment a student needs instruction, the Spirit knows exactly when and what we must remember.
Each day we read and meditate on Scripture, we plant seeds. The Spirit causes them to grow in their proper season. In trial, at the crossroads, facing temptation—precisely then the Word comes alive to hold us. The more abundantly we plant God's Word, the richer the harvest the Spirit can cultivate.
Cling to this promise today. The Spirit stands beside you, gently tapping your heart to remind you of Jesus' words. Listen to His teaching. Do not dismiss what He brings to remembrance. Open your heart wide and step forward, awaiting how His guidance will make God's Word live and move in every moment of this day.
🙏 Today's Prayer
Comforter, Holy Spirit, I ask that today You would bring to remembrance the words of Jesus in every moment of my life. When worry and busyness threaten to obscure His truth, awaken me afresh with Your voice. Grant me grace that every word I have read and heard may rise vividly in the moment of my greatest need, and give me strength to obey it. Keep me from neglecting Your instruction. Make me one who humbly sits before Your voice each day. Help me to treasure Your teaching and live it out. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
