📜 Today's Meditation

As we journey through life, we often encounter moments of deep discouragement. When our expectations crumble and our strength wanes, our souls become troubled. The psalmist didn't hide from these feelings—he expressed them honestly. Yet he asks himself: why do I despair? Why does anxiety grip me? This question itself becomes an awakening.

Despair and anxiety take root when we fix our gaze solely on our present circumstances. When faced with problems we cannot solve and situations beyond our control, we sink deeper into darkness. But the psalmist's counsel is clear: set your hope in God. This is not mere positive thinking—it is an intentional redirection of our faith's focus.

To look toward God means to turn your eyes toward His face. His help is already near to you. What we have missed is not the absence of comfort, but the eyes and heart to perceive it. How remarkable it is that we can offer praise even in discouragement. This is not the language of despair, but of hope.

Today, moments of anxiety or discouragement may come your way. When they do, remember this Word. As you turn your gaze toward God's face, you will discover His help is beside you. To become one who can give thanks even in despair—this is the true expression of faith.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, sometimes our souls grow discouraged and anxious. We lose hope when we follow only what we see. Today, through this Word, turn our eyes back to You. Grant us faith to find Your face even in darkness, and give us hearts that can give thanks even amid despair. Help us entrust our anxieties to You, and give us strength to live each day with gratitude, hoping in Your help. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
