Fica nervoso quando recebe a responsabilidade da oração pastoral? 'O que digo?' 'E se for muito curta?' 'Será entediante se for longa?' Essas preocupações são normais. Mas a chave é simples.
A oração pastoral tem quatro partes: gratidão, confissão, súplica e encerramento. Primeiro mencione o que agradece desta semana, depois confesse o que faltou, ore pela igreja e pelo mundo, e encerre em nome de Jesus.
O tempo adequado é de 2-3 minutos. Muito curta parece formal, muito longa perde a concentração da congregação. Citar um versículo bíblico acrescenta profundidade à oração e ajuda o orador a manter o rumo.
O importante é que a oração pastoral não é um momento para se exibir. Não precisa de palavras difíceis nem expressões elaboradas. Ore com sinceridade, representando o coração da congregação.

Gracious and loving God our Father, thank You for leading us to Your house on this holy Sunday morning. We praise You for the grace that kept and guided us throughout the week. Almighty God, we pray for our church and our nation. Let the church be the light and salt of the world, and give wisdom to our pastor and church leaders. Let the leaders of our nation govern with justice and righteousness, and help us build a society that cares for those in need. Comfort those suffering around the world and let the gospel be preached to all the earth. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer for Families
Loving God, bless every family in our church. Let love and respect overflow between husbands and wives. Give parents wisdom in raising children and give children hearts that honor their parents. Let the elderly not feel lonely and bring restoration to families facing difficulties. Let every family be built with God at the center. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
