📜 Today's Meditation

Just as starlight guides us through the darkness of night, our lives too need light. David, pursued through the wilderness and acquainted with deep loneliness, could make this confession because he had directly experienced God's light. We feel fear when facing uncertain futures or unexpected hardships. But the confession "The LORD is my light and my salvation" is not merely an emotion—it is a conviction rooted in God's presence, protection, and guidance.

God's light is an absolute power that can overcome any darkness. In the expression "my salvation," David recognizes that everything we could seek is found in God. Our ultimate need, our true answer, lies not in anything of this world but only in God. The question "whom shall I fear?" recalibrates the focus of our faith. If we believe in the absolute God, why should we fear other created beings?

If we are captive to fear, it may signal that we are not trusting in God. But the comfort this Word brings is clear: in any situation, we are not alone. God's light continually shines upon us, and within that light we find true safety and peace. When fear threatens today, return to the confession: "The LORD is my light."

🙏 Today's Prayer

Gracious God, I desire to trust in You in every moment of my life. When fear sometimes grips me, grant me the faith to look upon Your light. Help me deeply understand that You alone are my salvation. Give me courage to move forward boldly, feeling Your presence even in darkness. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
